I think this is Munich all over again. The message to all of the worlds dictators is that if you obtain nuclear weapons you will have the opportunity to meet with the President of the U.S., have them cease military cooperation with a trusted ally, and possibly have sanctions eased for simply promising to do something. And it will matter not if your government purposefully starves it's own people and operates concentration camps that can only be compared to those of Nazi Germany.

My first assignment in South Korea was 1973-1976, my second 1977-1978, my third 1992-1994. This is the first time in all that time that I've seen anything that truly offers some hope for resolution of the nK nuclear issue and the potential for the eventual reunification of nK and the ROK. I credit Trump and his unorthodox, blunt approach, with getting us to this point. It seems to me that those trying to trash this bit of progress are doing a disservice to our country, the ROK, and the potential for peace on the Korean peninsula. In my view, it is stupid to put on blinders and except it out of hand … and equally stupid to condemn or reject it, especially for partisan purposes. It is a work in progress … and to undermine it borders on traitorous, IMV.

We have stopped military operation with Military allies, not just one. Japan and Australia take part in it as well. However, just because we don't conduct the operation in South Korea, doesn't mean the training or operations cease. We care it out in a different capacity or in a different theater. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is insane. All that has happened in the past is that we have ensured they would build a nuclear weapon, and their people would continue to starve. So what's the harm in trying a new strategy, one that comes from a position of power, and could make or break you. If it doesn't work then we can ship them billions of dollars to help them out like we did Iran, there's still time.
