The problem with this thought process is Mattis should know better as a former commander himself. If Trump supports this, then he’s listening to his Generals and somewhere there is a disconnect between what the company commander, the Brigade commanders, the ISAF commander and what is actually briefed at the pentagon. Anybody who’s deployed knows this won’t work, but the defense industry will use this to get more money in the end
