SGT John " Mac " McConnell: How very ironic that I ducked and covered during this drill; in the sixth grade….only to serve, protect and defend this great nation of ours much, much later as an adult: during the Cold War.

Sure do remember. Though I do not know how much good it would have actually done where I was at. There was an Atlas or Titan missile site just a short distance away from the school.
