Interesting question. In a sense, it does. There was never any evidence that President Nixon ordered the break in at the Watergate. His transgression was lying about it in the aftermath. As yet, we don't have any evidence that President Obama ordered the spying, but it's beginning to look like there's evidence that he was lying about it. This could raise anew the same question that existed when President Nixon was impeached, is lying an impeachable offense? It was sufficient in President Nixon's case, although the validity of that impeachment was never tested. President Nixon resigned before it could be. And no, the impeachment of President Clinton was not the same. He was guilty of lying under oath. Fortunately for him, his party controlled Congress at that time and he got away with it. Later adjudication found him guilty of perjury and he lost his license to practice law and had to make a full public confession (which was lost in the hullabaloo surrounding the inauguration of the incoming President.

He may not have ordered it but maybe planted the seed and let his minions run with it. Possibly giving him plausible deniability..

It is similar to climate science in that public information is limited or tainted. Like trying to predict a storm without the use of Doppler radar. Interesting that a year ago the press was claiming while no direct evidence tied Trump to the Russia investigation, there was plenty of smoke. One year later the smoke seems to have cleared and Trump is no worse for the ware. Seems the tables have turned and now we see a lot of smoke coming from inside the Obama/Hillary camp. We may never know. Seems a lot is riding on the upcoming release of the Hillary IG report. Eventual indictments? I seriously doubt it.

What about those of us who do not claim to be of "either" party? Good piece. Those of us who are neither Republican nor Democrat sometimes enjoy sitting on the sidelines, eating popcorn, amazed and entertained by the shenanigans. However, things got serious when, after the peaceful transition of power, it became obvious that O-Man was setting up a shadow government. Conservative pundits expressed their dismay and concern to mostly deaf ears. I listened intently and followed up on leads and sources to my eventual horror. The New World Order have lifter their hideous heads with this scandal. Forget about The Swamp, we're talking Armageddon here. The very fabric of our Republic hangs in the balance of who will eventually win this struggle. It is downplayed and trivialized every day in the MSM with ridiculous attacks on President Trump and his family and associates. While reading the story I could not help but remember when President Trump accused the Left of tapping his phones. The MSM scoffed. The truly amazing thing about President Trump however, is the fact that he knew what he was getting into. No successful businessman or general gets into a fight without first considering the best and worst case scenarios. At the very outset were the attacks on Melania, Baron and Ivanka. If that didn't sway him, I thought, nothing would. He loved his country too much to waiver. Pick the one who has nothing to gain by leading, for he will most likely stick to the principles that brought him forward into the fray. Obama enriched himself and others while in office to the tens of millions of dollars. President Trump will surely come out in the red when all is said and done. Why would a man with nothing to gain, having lived a profitable and complete life before seeking and then attaining office, come forward voluntarily for such abuse? Love of country and purpose. So, the caparison to Watergate is appropriate, as stunning as it is. The Deep State lives, and must be stopped, but not just on the fringes; it must be stopped at the source. Gitmo is being renovated and has plenty of room for new inmates (not detainees). The Supreme Court, in ruling for habeas corpus rights for detainees (should they apply - it would be considered), they determined that although Guantanamo Bay was technically Cuban soil, it was "virtually US territory." If that is true (and it has not been overturned), then US citizens may lawfully be incarcerated there. And there is no other more secure place on planet earth than that location. Let them try and run the Shadow Government from a cell at Gitmo - you don't even want to know what cell service is like there! Hooah!
