I have been informed that the "Choice" program so far has not been helpful, and seen it with my own eyes. Hopefully this works better.
I read through most of the article and this continues to bring me to the thinking that it might be less expensive and easier to make VA services something like a single payer health care system with at most primary care services in the VA only. The biggest issue with the VA, or any government entity, is the fact that you have three beaurocrats doing paperwork per doctor or nurse, continually increasing costs and slowing the access to care.

Cold hard fact...........This will change little. Many health providers do not accept Tri-Care simply because they pay less, and since Health care providers cannot charge veterans for the cost of a service related injury they just turn them away. This has happened to me half a dozen times over the last 10 or so years. The Feds close down VA clinics (3 in Southern Iowa alone) then try to open up further to veterans private clinics. Why.........it's cheaper and they can pass the buck onto others when shit doesn't get done.
3 words....fuck this shit. Don't like my language, too bad, deal with it.
Also, this is a big first step in the privatization of VA health care, which is a bad idea.
