if this was about china developing the anti sat missiles - I would give credence to your post - but the Russians? no - don't see them and North Korea being in cahoots, especially when they are focused on Syria and eastern Europe. And to be honest - we have two sats that is public knowledge, with the way our military is always talking about redundancy in the event of extreme contingencies, I find it hard to swallow that we have just two out there, or that there is no fall back contingency in the event of such a thing happening.

Cynthia Croft - Bottom line up front - there are really only two Nations that can effectively oppose China - one - The United States - is tearing itself apart internally, and happens to be on the other side of the globe, two - is Russia - China is not deliberately attempting a move on the Siberian resources - yet - though an educated guess is that would be China's long term strategy. as I said in an earlier post, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea are effectively isolated, Japan is not allowed to have an offensively capable military, and South Korea depends on the US for a lot of its security - and again - its - for all intents and purposes - an island - with the only access to the rest of the Asian mainland easily cut off with a pretty effective choke point. So that would leave the United States in a pickle - Do we officially support Japan becoming offensive capable? Do not see that going over well as there are still pretty strong feelings about Japan for its role in WW2 so that would mean an alliance of convienance between Russia and the United States - and I can tell you with clear certainty that THAT particular scenario will be the breaking point for the American People.

Say what you will about Trump - The China-US trade talks is not about trade - it's about the US doing whatever it can short of provoking a conflict - it's one thing to talk a hard game to NK, quite another to China - and so the conflict is going to be economics, with Trump taking a hard stance regarding trade with China - I am not a big fan of how he operates, but so far - he has gotten results. We will see after these trade talks.

Cynthia Croft - yes - I agree - but there is aboiut 300 million Americans who would see any kind of alliance with Russia as proof that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign - and the rest of the world be damned - gotta understand the American People - they have never faced a serious hardship, they have become complacent and coddled and do not see anything beyond the "now", its all about instant gratification. theres more to it - but I really do not want to go into a rant.

Cynthia Croft - I wouldn't go that far yet - just like when you are in a Bar and two people are getting ready to fight, there will be a whole lot of blustering and yelling as they work up their courage. when that happens between China and the US - that's when you pack the survival kit and boogie to the hills

Erin Nelson I agree with you being inclusive about Russia and North Korea. What history has taught us about spy and war operations is this; DISINFORMATION, it is all right there in declassified information sources. And for those who don't read extensively, the declassified materials have been used for movies, i.e. The Company, The Good Shepherd. There are too many book-intelligent people in important positions instead of people that possess sharp analytical common sense. We are like thinkers.
