The majority of Afghanistan population desire Shria Law. Are we denying them their desire? Do you know what our National Interest is there Sir?

Hope you saw the Taliban Narrative book review I posted up. It had several items though you would find very - very interesting.

This is definitely a war of attrition and the Taliban is testing our staying power. I do not think there exists a viable peace accord because the Taliban insists on a state under Sharia Law, and considers the government as heretics. They are content with the asymmetric fighting tactics instead of peer on peer battles. When we leave they will use more conventional tactics.

And something must be said about martyrdom. It will guarantee success into heaven and all its glory, even for the poor an wretched.

The only way to win in Afghanistan is kill all the elders sending their youth to fight and with the remaining youth intense education. Wars have rarely been won by militaries, they are usually won by people at home willing to send their youth off and Rosie the Riveter. We firebombed Dresden and Tokyo and nuked two Japanese cities. We did not do these killings to primarily kill soldiers, we did this to kill their desire to fight. It worked and is probably nothing we will ever do again to win wars as civilian casualties are no longer accepted by the 99% that have never won a uniform.

Such tactics remain as to a question of their working and if they were effective at all in WWII past the immediately after the end of the war propaganda that was used to justify them in total war. Which was the greater threat to Japan - ours or the Soviets that marked the end?
I would say there are no ways for the US or NATO to win in Afghanistan - but there are ways to gain a win for the Afghan government.

People can question those tactics all they want however one glowing fact of their success may not have been in killing all those civilians but what did not happen to the civilians of the victors, our Grandmothers and Mothers. Rosie went to work and there was such patriotism at home that many 4Fs killed themselves for not be able to serve. I am not so optimistic in a win for anyone in Afghanistan. They seem to be content treating women as property, 'women are for reproduction, men are for fun' mentality, using young boys as sex slaves, and getting high off the opium. Not certain things will change until we change that and while I cannot wrap my head around any of that (taught my wife to drive and shoot), not certain it is our place to change that.
