Isn't that why the Eastern District of Virginia is dealing with the financial crimes because there's evidence a crime was committed. Is this judge suggesting we ignore this and focus on whether Mueller is trying to flip Manafort? And for the judge to say the American people are so concerned about one having unfettered power while he seems to be defending whether the Executive Authority has unfettered power.
Sorry but this judge is showboating as if he's never seen a prosecutor use charges of a crime to get someone to agree to a plea deal. I thought the judge is overseeing a case involving 10 years of illegal activities by Manafort, not a case charging the Trump campaign of anything. So can a judge really engage prosecution lawyers to find out if this case that he's overseeing is meant to influence another case? Lets talk about this abuse of power.
By the way, read story yesterday that Ukrainian government decided to put a hold on their case against Manafort and any cooperation of their investigators with the Mueller team conveniently after having a meeting with Trump officials to receive anti-tank weapon systems. Coincidence?

The point is how this evidence was collected. It's like getting a warrant to search a house, but you search a car instead because it was on the property but not in the warrant. If you use the evidence collected in the car, it is fruit of the poisonous tree, and will be thrown out. No law enforcement agency whether federal or local can just seize evidence that is not listed in a warrant and then use that to prosecute them. This investigation has gone so far out of the four corners of the special counsels initial authority it's insane. What does what Manafort did 12 years ago have to do with an election 2 years ago? Nothing.

MSgt C Madd - And this judge is presiding over a case involving a warrant for evidence in regards to financial crimes; therefore, what reason does the judge have to ask the US attorneys about the motives or strategies of another investigation/case? The court like the LEOs has left and right limits. To accuse the attorneys of using a search warrant in regards to the specific case in his courtroom in order to obtain evidence for another investigation is crossing the line and showing bias. The judge that eventually presides over Manafort's or Trump's or etc. case will determine if the evidence was obtained properly.
Yeah what Manafort did for years leading up to him joining the Trump campaign are the charges he is facing. We don't know of any pending charges for activities while he was part of the campaign; not because there's nothing but because the Special Investigator hasn't made everything public nor has he made all available to Congress. So lets stop pretending that we know everything that Mueller, his team, and the DOJ knows. You're just getting nervous.

MAJ James Woods I'm not nervous, just witnessing a Special Prosecutor stepping way out of bounds to try to get to POTUS. After almost 2 years of investigating POTUS and this is it, not even scared. If, and a big if there was anything good on POTUS with all the leaks going on, we would have got it by now. A POTUS can not be impeached for anything that took place prior to being POTUS. Just threw that last thing out there as a bonus, but it's true.

MSgt C Madd - First of all, it's only been one year and two months under Mueller. Watergate, Whitewater, and Benghazi were longer. This desire to put time limits on investigations seem to only happen when one side doesn't like the direction an investigation is heading. So do yourself a favor and just let them do their job without passing presumptive biased judgment. After all, how many times does someone have to remind individuals like you that the folks responsible for and leading the special investigation are long time Republicans who had been selected by Trump or hired by a Trump appointee. Guess those loyalty oaths to Trump were a suggestion not a requirement.
