Heck, I have to personally authorize medical records, exams and x-rays to be shared with ANYONE! Certainly POTUS Trump’s personal doctors office should observe the same rules and patients rights. The HIPPA regulations are very stringent on sharing of medical records! Capt Dwayne Conyers

Yes there are other ways but frankly none that make sure the Dr doesn't get to keep a copy or have a chance to hand them over to the media in full. This Dr doesn't care about the law or protecting his "former" patient. he wants his moment of fame and to make bank. The fact he is now screaming to MSN how he was set upon and "raided" by 2 guys shows his liberal leanings. he need to be put out of business, id never Trust a Doc that did this kind of crap.

CPO (Join to see) - Understand fully and I don't blame him. You or I would be arrested, but that double standard exists all over society. If we did it, they would call it theft by unlawful taking or something similar. He's POTUS so there's not much anyone can do about it, but per HIPAA:

It is important to note that patients have the right to a copy of their record, not the original. The original record belongs to the healthcare facility. It is a document they must maintain for legal and business purposes. (*Journal of AHIMA)

* The Journal of AHIMA is the official publication of the American Health Information Management Association.
