Thanks for reminding us SGT (Join to see) about the Doolittle Raid on Japan which was intended to show the Japanese and the USA that the attack on Pearl Harbor:
1. did not cripple our capability to retaliate against Japan.
2. demonstrated that medium bombers could be launched from an aircraft carrier
3. relied on the relationship with Nationalist China to rescue the pilots who only had enough fuel to attack Japan and then attempt to make it to China.

Bombs made the difference in the,end. Too bad they wouldn't surrender before we had to go nuclear.
