SWA Capt Shults deserves all the kudos she is getting for successfully landing the aircraft after a catastrophic engine failure and breach of the passenger cabin leading to explosive decompression. It is most unfortunate that a passenger lost her life in the accident. There is nothing Capt Shults could have done to preserve the life of the passenger sucked out of the aircraft after the window was broken next to her seat. Pilots practice for such emergencies in flight simulators and on training flights; however, it's difficult to simulate the stress of the real situation. This training paid off for Capt Shults and all aboard the SW flight.
