SGT (Join to see) Only from textbooks. We lived in Texas at the time, and this one missed us.

I was a kid in 74 but a tornado tore thru our little town, cut the school in half, they found brick from the school up to 5 miles away.

Whitesville, KY. The tornado sort of jumped around. It took the roof off a house down the road, then took out a bunch of trees then hit the school which was a large 2 story block building built in the 1930's with a bell tower. Just cut it in half like a cake.

SSG (Join to see) - That must have been terrifying. I remember it moving through Ohio after mowing over Kentucky.

To be honest, I lived about 3 miles outside the city and sleep thru the whole thing, we did have this huge cottonwood tree on our farm uprooted and just tossed out in the field but that was on the back of the farm. But we drove into town that morning and everything was trashed.

I remember that we had hail the size of silver dollars in some places and some the size of a hardball in others.
