Not much a fan of the headlines for these. As far as I am aware these charges are for financial crimes committed prior to working with the Trump campaign and are unrelated to the Trump/Russia issue.
It makes the headlines seem intentionally misleading because the implication is that indictments are being made WRT collusion between Trump and Russia. Makes it seem like they are just trying to manipulate readers, knowing that most don't read past the headlines.

the headline says nothing about collusion so why does saying nothing about it mislead?

1stSgt Nelson Kerr, I can't tell if you are trolling or not.
Mueller's investigation is into suspected collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. While investigating this, Mueller's team has uncovered other illegal activity. He rightfully brings charges against those people that are unrelated to the initial premise of the investigation, but the premise of the investigation still stands.
Thus, when you write "Ex-Trump Aide pleads guilty in Russia probe" the implication is that it is in relation to the original premise of the investigation i.e. Trump campaign colluded with Russia. This is not done on accident. These are professional writers. They could have said "Gates pleads guilty to multiple counts of Fraud, etc.," but that doesn't have the same implications, so they don't write it that way.

his investigation is into the Russian attacks on the US and any possible American collusion. As.part of that process he has found quite a few confees.criminal indicted other and we have no idea whay as else. Perpaps you should go back and look at the job he was tasked with. if the ivestigation is nit shortcut and trump comes I UT clean than I am OK with that, if he does not come out clean that is also something we must know. If any of one helped the Russians, lied to the FBI or under oath or obstructed justice that has to be exposed also., exposed and tried. When did you get the idea that Mueller tasking was to get Trump. His task is to investigate an attack on the US.

I didn't say he was tasked with "getting Trump." I think you are confusing me with some of the Presidents diehards.
The investigation was launched because of suspected ties between the Trump campaign and Russian interference to sabotage Clinton. That is how the media repeatedly characterized the investigation over the past year.
These crimes were uncovered during the investigation, but they were not the purpose of the investigation. This isn't a bad thing. If crimes were committed, they should be charged with those crimes. That goes for anyone. My issue is not with Mueller investigating or indicting any illegal activity. As I have stated numerous times, I am not a fan of misleading headlines. That is exactly what most of these headlines are.
They are deliberately vague to imply certain things when read. The most clear headline for this would have been "Rick Gates pleads guilty to financial fraud and lying to investigators," or something along those lines. In fact, many headlines do say some variation of that. It is sufficiently descriptive and clear. Saying "Ex-Trump Aide pleads guilty in Russia probe" is deliberately unclear to mislead readers.
Again, these are professional writers. They know exactly how their words will be perceived and they write that way to achieve a specific effect.
