That's for sure. You'd think the busiest airport in the world would have some massive back-up systems.

They do. But systems cannot replace people and that is what Georgia Power is currently doing. You can have the best automated switches and devices known to man, but that voltage is delivered on systems that require manual labor and inspections from time to time. Let's see what this outage cost and watch how they sell it to the public service commission to raise rates. The quality of lineman out there have become substandard because the focus is no longer in skill, but technology. Oh by the way. Georgia Power, I bet you would love to have our skills back for those you lost. I know wire, insulators, banks, capacitance, kilowatt hour load and peak load better than that panasonic toughbox.

I used to live not far from the airport. Georgia Power was always dropping the ball. Every summer after thunderstorms there were 6 hr power outages. Although I can say PA was worse. Two days of outages and it wasn't a natural disaster.

It is the powers that be. They bougt into technology just like most companies did. A money and time thing. Military tries it too. Guess What, people can see thing machines, meters, and testers cannot. When business begin investing in people again, America can be great.
