Whiskey Tango Foxtrot ....
Reading two different articles that both for the most part say the same thing. I want to know what in blazes the cops were thinking while arresting an 11 year old. Who in their right mind goes and looks for a 40 year old white women and then says hay lets arrest her 11 year old black niece....? While some will make the race the main issue, I want to know how they went from 40 year old to 11 year old, I hope the family gets answers, and I hope that if the cops did not have a really good reason (which I doubt they do as they would have been screaming it) that they be fired and sued.

11-year-old held at gunpoint, handcuffed by police after stepping out of house
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Michigan police are investigating after an 11-year-old Michigan girl was held at gunpoint, put in handcuffs and thrown in the back of a police car, WOOD-TV reports. Honestie Hodges was leaving her Grand Rapids home last week to go to the store when the incident happened. “When my mom was walking past, I was putting my hands through the little bars, banging on the windows, screaming, ‘Please don’t let them take me,'”...

Odd I don't see a statement from the police in the article you posted or the one up above. They seem to have made no statement right now and are investigating what happened.

Press Release: Internal Investigation Opened After Arrest of Attempted Murder Suspect
Grand Rapids, MI (December 11, 6:50 pm)
The Grand Rapids Police Major Case Team is currently investigating an attempted murder stemming from the December 6th domestic-related stabbing in the 1300 block of Hamilton Av NW.
Once onscene, officers determined that the suspect fled the residence still armed with the knife. Their investigation led to a second Westside Grand Rapids home where it was believed the suspect may have fled to. As officers were setting up a perimeter, three females simultaneously exited the home, two adults and one 11 year old juvenile. Until it could be determined that the individuals were not the suspect, nor armed with a weapon, the three were ordered back to officers and detained. The homeowner gave consent to search the home, and it was deemed that none of the three individuals that exited the home were the suspect officers were searching for nor was the suspect in the home. The females were subsequently released.
An additional nearby home was then checked and the suspect was located and arrested. The woman was charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, a warrant, and Resisting and Obstructing Arrest. The victim was treated at an area hospital for her injuries and has been released.
Following a complaint filed on behalf of the 11 year old female, the Grand Rapids Police Department opened an internal investigation which is still ongoing.

It says the 3 were detained and NOT arrested. There is a difference between being detained and beig arrested. Were the cops right in their behavior? Who knows by words have meanings. The original article claims that they were ARRESTED at gunpoint. The cops claim they were detained and then released.
