Christian players frustrated by criticism for anthem protest

Just an observation: In that short list of things that military members need to honor (Flag, National Anthem, and Country), you don't mention the one thing we are/were SWORN to defend and honor: the Constitution.

Since it's the Constitution that gives CK the right to protest, shouldn't we, who are sworn to defend the Constitution (not the Flag or National Anthem; by extension, defending the Country IS defending the Constitution) be standing up for his right to peacefully protest, even if we disagree with him?

I agree that the constitution protects the citizens right to protest. It does not however teleport someone to a consequence free world. I have the right to yell fire in a crowded theater but may also be punished for it. They can kneel, lie on ground or give the flag the one finger salute if the chose but that doesn’t mean that in an entertainment field aka commercial setting that they will have no consequences. They are protesting and no one is arresting them, that is their right. I and hundreds of thousands of Americans are now boycotting the NFL and their sponsors, that is our right. The NFL who readily punished other players for praying, wearing 911 memorial sneakers etc has a precedent of punishing such players, expressing personal views financially and other ways. They have a right to punish, fine and even fire players who don’t represent brand (like punishing Brady for praying) or cost business (like kapernick). NFL is entertainment. When the entertainment is not entertaining to clients then the business model won’t work. They have a full right to exercise their rights as businessmen and fire or censor kaoernick and others.
People forget that we all have rights. Rights are not just for the few who are the most ostentatious or loud. We all have rightsand the responsibilities and consequences which arise from exercising them.

So true... so many issues the players have been fined for so why now is there a free pass???
