You have got to be kidding. The welfare state at its best. I am sick of hearing low income. If you are not satisfied with your income do something about it. Use your GI Bill. Get another job. What ever happened to the America where we took care of ourselves? Don't like the CEO making more than you, start your own business.

HELL YA!!!! I hate these liberal babies that think everything should be given to you, to ensure no one's "feelings" get hurt!!! F-THAT!!! Stick and stones will break your bones but names will never hurt you...ring a bell, unless you're a liberal Snowflake!!! That's from back when Men were allowed to be men...now all these Men are raised to be like women...because women want to be like men..but they can't, so they emasculate men to try to make us equal....I think it's time for everyone to tee off at the same distance, do the same amount of pushups, run as fast and truly be on the same team. I hate cry babies...!!!!

Hey do not paint all women with the same brush. Not all of us are liberals no matter how much the media likes to tell you we are. I do not want to be a man. I can pass my pt test at the male standards for my age group. I don’t really play golf so what T I use wouldn’t matter. I generally suck at ball sports so I stick to distance running. Physically men are different than women. Personality wise they are too, at least the normal distribution is. I work in a male dominated field but there are females who can be successful in this field. It has more to do with personality type than gender specifically. Females that excel in male dominated fields usually have personalities similar to that of the guys in their field. i resent some people on the left trying to push more women into engineering when their temperament is not right for it. Even if they are intelligent enough to do the job they will still have a hard time with it because they don’t have the personality for it. For those of us females in the industry it makes us very upset to see other women fail because it makes us all look bad. BTW even though my personality type is more typical of a male than a female it does NOT mean I want to be a male or think I am a male. I was born a female and will die a female! I have a husband and am happy with him. I also have 2 kids.
In general I do not associate with non technical females because their personalities are so different from mine its annoying. Most of my friends are other engineers and men.

This really isn't about Veterans ... it's about trying to muster flagging support for a $15 minimum wage in an economy that is finally starting to thrive ... using Veterans and a BS narrative about the "GOP Congress" in an attempt to sway public opinion.

What help are you suggesting for "low income" vets? I've not really heard anyone address it. We have lots of programs for low income people. Why do vets need something separate and distinct from other citizens that might be low income.
What is "the right thing" you are suggesting? Do vets warrant payments from the government for having served a few years in the armed forces at some point in their life?

Cpl Jeff N. - How about I define low income as jobless and/or homeless - not due to physical injury - but due to psychological issues due to and/or exacerbated by their prior honorable millitary service - including most particularly homeless combat veterans. I know of many who are incapable of reaching out to and dealing with the VA bureaucracy. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

1LT Sandy Annala - I'd simply note that increasing the minimum wage, which is what the article truly seems to be pushing, won't do a thing to help the jobless ... in fact, it is more likely than not to create more of them.

1LT Sandy Annala - So, how many of them do you think are out there? How much should we spend helping people that will not help themselves by investing the time to navigate the VA bureaucracy? If they have 100% of their time available and are unwilling to invest any of it to improve their station in life, what do you think you can do for them?
BTW, your definition is not low income, it is homeless/destitute but I will play along.
How many PTSD suffering homeless vets do you think there are? I mean actual combat vets not folks who thought they heard a shot fired in anger.

1SG John Furr - John, I think we all know there are veterans that need help due to service related disabilities. This need is trying to be turned into an entitlement culture and turn veterans into the next entitlement class. Veterans, because of their training and experience should be well equipped to succeed in the private sector. This non stop veterans need/deserve more government money is over the top.
