China has another issue the Communist Party is aware of and has tried to fix but has only been able to remedy via stealing from other countries intellectual property, patents, copyrights, etc. Communist run countries do not foment the environment for innovation or invention to take place on the scale as do Western Capitalist Democracies. It seems to be a trait linked directly to personal freedom which the Communists do not want to grant. They keep trying incentive programs and other ways to bring innovation to the same level as the United States but they keep failing at it as the only way seems to be for the Communists to relinquish power or finally establish a legitimate Democracy. So their current choice is to retain power and keep stealing intellectual property and innovation from everyone else to stay even with them technically. If you think this through though China cannot survive or keep pace technically without the existance of the Western Democracies and it is a point which the Communist leaders must have come to a conclusion already. They have three choices before them. Destroy Western Democracy completly, Learn to co-exist, or Step down from power. So far looks like they are attempting the second choice.
