Thanks SGT John " Mac " McConnell for sharing the history of the Atomic Cannon whose range was not long enough to protect the soldiers who fired it from nuclear effects. Thankfully the M65 280mm Motorized Heavy Gun was never used in combat.

CPT Jack Durish It would practically contaminate everyone in the area. Yeh, I don't think so. Could you imagine the enemy over running a position and getting a hold of those munitions?
