Didn't sign up for this job because thought it would be a tea party in the park. Sorry for the families, but this stuff happens. Know some will say MV-22 is a death trap after seeing this, but it is combat tested and has a good safety record given number of hours and missions it flies.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - in some ways scarier MV22 is scarier then a helicopter.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Riding in a Huey, across the spine of South Korea while while sharing the back with a fighter pilot who spoke down to the Army Warrants who were flying the antique was my scariest moment in the air. I really do not like looking UP at power-lines while flying.

Yup, you know the feeling! Of course looking up at power lines at 400kts can be fun when you control the aircraft.

Prayers for the Marines and the families. My son is a Marine, we'll trained, but just a kid, as most of these Marines are, tough as nails, but kids in chaotic circumstances.
I didn't appreciate hearing the news report of the brass calling it a "mishap". "Mishaps" don't result in aircraft in the water and all of us praying for families.
