Safari West owner had ‘a thousand souls’ to save from Tubbs fire

As a farmer/rancher its a hard call. I will say that we have always had two categories of critters on the farm, one being livestock that are bought and sold or put in the freezer when the time came and the other being more like members of the family, given names and they live out their lives in the herd.

Should the time come that we had to choose between saving the house (replaceable) and the pets, I would try to save as many of the pets as possible. The house, barn etc are insured and can be replaced, but the relationship with the four legged family cannot.
