Gun restrictions weren't always as outrageous or silly as those proposed by today's Democrats. In fact, NRA has always supported strong enforcement of laws against criminals who use firearms during the commission of crimes (i.e. Project Exile in Virginia).

The NRA worked with Ronald Reagan and George Bush to instill some of the background checks we have today.

Capt Dwayne Conyers - Okay, some folks do advocate that the founders would not support us owning the weapons of the day even though they did in the 1700's. They say the founders couldn't envision an AR15 or a semi automatic pistol etc. The founders also could not envision the radio, television, satellite radio, the internet, mobile devises and the like but our freedoms still work with those technologies.

SSgt Joseph Baptist I think one of the big issues plaguing the NRA today is the Democrats want to instill more background checks that clearly in the long run won't work. It's like the book If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, he'll want?

Good thing constitutionalists like myself have steered the association towards constitutionalism. The NRA isn't your problem, your issue is too many people like myself want to maintain their liberty from despots like the anti-gun left.
