Fritz Haber was a Nobel Prize winning chemist who developed a process to synthesize ammonia from nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas creating fertilizer. Half of the world's population is fed using this process to create fertilizers. Unfortunately, he was responsible for creating the first chemical weapon attacks. His company also invented Zyklon as a pesticide. Ironically, he converted from Judaism to Lutheranism and many of his immediate family left Germany due to Jewish persecution; however, many of his extended family died during the Holocaust.
