Not a sailor but the punishment does not fit the crime. They compromised the integrity of the selection process, flaunted this was going to happen before they did it, and it took an anonymous email to 'stop it'? Where was the goat locker calling BS on their peers knowing this was about to go down? What about their integrity? They got off lucky with a single demotion, the ability to retire, and draw retirement pay as a Master Chief. The folks who are paying the real price are those who were honestly selected but are on hold until this is resolved, and those in the future who will face unneeded scrutiny for doing the right things to get promoted just to have their records scrubbed harder.

Master Chiefs Broke it, we need to fix it! Perhaps it is time to let the CMC retired community, sit all of the boards. After 10 years I knew very few names on the selection lists, after 20, none, they were all babies when I left Active Duty. Call a bunch or CMC's to the selection board process, either Active or Retired, and I hope this crap would never happen again.
The other solution is to make sure no MCPO ever sits and votes his own rate at all. After all, we are there as managers, not technical experts and should be able to pick the best people in any rating, not just our own.

CPO Nate S. - I agree and believe that a mix of ACDU and Retired MCPOs would be ideal. NMPC sets Quotas based on the needs of the Navy to fill Vacant Billets as projected in the Service. It is up to the Future Selection Boards to maintain the Integrity corrupted by TWO ACDU MCPOs and ONE Retired MCPO. This corruption will never be forgotten but will be used to ensure that it never happens again.

I agree it's up to the future selection boards to maintain the integrity process but the three you keep referring to they are E-9's not Master Chiefs period.!!!!

SCPO Henry Malone - Actually, two are now E-8's (Thanks, Special Court) and one is still an E-9, I agree.

CMDCM Gene Treants - MC - Yep it will NEVER be forgotten, but it most certainly be used to assure what the CPO Community doe not suffer this level of stupidity at the MCPO level again. Frankly, the MCs should be Courts Martialled and stripped of their rank down to E0. This is harsh, I know, but the message it would send would provide the kind of shock waves needed to restore and maintain CPO Community integrity.

Its rightfully named a "Mess"
I really wonder about this "The two master chiefs who were convicted were veterans of multiple selection boards and knew these rules well, the investigation concluded" Are they looking at the rest of the Boards they sat on?
Tell a thousand Truths and no one cares, tell one lie and all your truths are suspect.

I agree. Once your integrity is questioned nothing gets is back. I would want to look at every board they ever sat n and every selectee they chose.
