This is the monumentally lame prattle from the left. If you are not just like me you are not welcome. This attack will draw support from the left. Do not be mistaken. The left has never liked the military or veterans and the prattle will turn into chatter, then into a voice and then into a cacophony.
Many of us were around for the treatment of the Vietnam veterans. That will be the treatment you can start to expect. They view us as a threat to their ability to force their will on anyone and everyone.

Agreed on all points. What is un-effing believable to me is that ANY Vet could go into politics as a democrat (a la Tammy Duckworth, et al.).

There's a simple solution. They don't want us, we don't want them. Cut off their federal funding if the school submits to this nonsense.

Capt Dwayne Conyers It is extremely illegal and stereotyping. No one should be excluded from getting and education where ever they want to.

The school didn't submit to anything and disowned what was written. It simply allowed the group its right to "free speech." Repugnant (and wrong) though that speech is, I wouldn't want it any other way. A snippet from the article and the university's position:
[begin quote]On the other hand, respect for the right of someone to speak should never be taken as endorsing the viewpoints that someone has expressed. The viewpoints that the authors express are against the law. UCCS does not discriminate against veterans. But even more fundamentally, UCCS does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, religion, creed, veteran status, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or political philosophy. People earn the right to study at UCCS by virtue of hard work and individual effort, and we do not bar the door.[end quote]
It was also interesting to note that students at the university are taking down the posts from various places where they have been put up ... and are generally in disagreement with the content.

LTC (Join to see) - I am not like Bill Clinton. I don't waste time explaining little words like "if"

CPT Jack Durish - Nor do you have to. I simply thought it was worth pointing out for those that weren't interested in reading the article that the school had already answered the "if" ... fairly decisively ... and at least some of the students reacted favorably as well. In a season where both school administrators and students at other schools have not shown particularly admirable responses to other incidents, I thought that the fact that in this case they did was worth underlining.

This article has been posted a few times here, so I'm going to copy my response from earlier.
I'm glad this is happening. Presenting an idea is soooo much better than assaulting people or smashing windows or setting things on fire. An idea is something we can debate. Is it a stupid idea? Sure, and I'm glad it's out there. This allows people to see inside the minds of people who think this way. And they are very persuasive words -- fortunately, they will persuade far more people that this guy is a lunatic than they will persuade people to think he is correct about veterans. And that's exactly the point! Let that debate happen! Let's encourage more people to reveal the inner workings of their minds. Let's allow racists and Nazis and communists to express their ideas, so people can see how repugnant they are in their own words. Let's hear from NeoNazis and White Supremacists in their own words tell us what their ideal world would look like, and let's have Antifa explain why that's bad, and how they feel about the rule of law, and why they think their own tactics are justifiable.
In the end, middle America will be the judge of it all, and I believe all the lunatics will eventually become as irrelevant as David Duke. (If it weren't for the liberal media bringing him up and trying to tie him to Republicans, nobody would know where he is or what he's doing or saying. Because nobody cares.)
