SGT John " Mac " McConnell They just put a travel warning for Mexico due to the high lead content in the air.
Anyone who thinks that slavery ended in the 1800's is not paying attention, or actively remaining ignorant. Human Trafficking is just a sterilized way of saying slavery. The amount that they pay to come to the United States is worked off in sweat shops and fields if they are lucky. If they are unlucky, they end up in the sex trade. Any way you slice it, they have no choice in the matter. If they try to escape they are killed, or their family is killed. These cartels are militarized, ruthless, and won't stop until they are eradicated by force.

Sadly, human trafficking is on the rise. Not just cartels, gangs and other organized crimes. They don't just hit illegals and foreigners others desperate for a better life style from their world countries. This is a problem now for American families with children that has radically increased due to social media, demand and the increased skill set of coercive controls to trap troubled kids upset by family crisis and circumstance. These predators are highly skilled at targeting specific children and luring and trapping them in dangerous situations. JUST ASK says these children do not understand their situations and are scared. They do not know how to get help. Service providers, professionals and parents have direct contact, yet are focused on so called bad behaviors and do not know how to JUST ASK the right questions. Detective Wolff President of JUST ASK and a Detective in Fairfax VA, said these children have a 7 year life expectancy. People need to be educated, see the red flags and have specially trained professionals be able to intervene. Current practices make situations worse and increase danger. We just attended the CNA Panel with their research into the increased concern around human trafficking. They stated that in the next few years this problem will surpass drugs as the number one problem in America. They worked with Collaborative Multidepartment Teams between FBI, local police, schools, local DFCS/CPS, federal hotlines, and recovery interventions. Currently there are incidences recorded in each grade in all public schools in counties being studied. People Inc in Virginia has stated that families in the "In Betweens" that are not rich enough to solve their problems and not poor enough to receive full services are at the highest risk. The Sheriff Mosier in Fauqier County said we need to increase education and parents need to understand the extreme danger of this targeting, where families need to have only centrally located computers and no smart devices in children's rooms. We continue our personal research and development into supporting early education, detection and intervention into these high risk families. We were speaking in a PCR group of professional community providers and they say no one talks about this. Det Wolff said how would you respond if your daughter told you over the dinner, that she was prostituting or involved with a mature adult. Outrage is the standard response. The truth goes more like the child upset at home or with a person posts online and builds a relationship with someone who cares and will fill the need of attention, of gifts or time. Once they are hooked and happy, slowly the heat is turned up over time sucking them in and tricking them into a bad situation. If they try to get out, they are beaten, threatened, raped, or their family is threatened. They begin small with moving stuff or helping out in an emergency and it shifts. They are mentally messed with until they are trapped. They are scared. They reach out in anger and upset. No one hears the cries. They reach out dessparately at home and outrage. Police and the state untrained face similar situations using drugs and behavioral control. This fails. Thus, the CNA Panel after some research which will be available this fall have a good understanding on the dynamics and real interventions that have been effective to help these trafficked children. Thank you.
