Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski about that the continuing confrontation with the Buddhists and Diem’s failure to press for meaningful reforms led to a withdrawal of U.S. support for the South Vietnamese leader Ngô Đình Diệm
Of course the Buddhist monks were dead wrong in this instance and we were culpable to a degree since we never prosecuted the war in North Vietnam in any earnest way.
Peace with ardent communists is like flaming snow flaskets - oxymoron.
Former President Ronald Reagan was consistently anti-communist and wise in his measured approaches which resulted in the crumbling of communism in eastern Europe.
