What arrogance by Trump, who said publicly that he knows more than the generals. It,s too compllicated for the poor dull witted generals to figure out, so I'm going to do the generals a favor by making it go away. No need to tell the generals ahead of time.

Ok Top Military leaders, several etc etc, no names or positions just more BS, Transgender Troops are not conducive to military service and a the wide majority believe and support this. The military isn't pushing back on anything it never does or this would never have been approved on the last watch. Only the uniformed and those with supportive views belief this fantasy.

So far there seems to be about 250 service members that have that medical condition on active duty. Most of them have seen extensive service and are on combat deployments in Afghanistan or Korea. They seem to be functioning well and are integrated into their units, so I do not believe this condition in itself should be disqualifying.

I served on active duty from 1976-88, transferred to the IRR, and pursued my medical treatment there, at my own expense. I was recalled to AD for desert storm, served my TOD, returned to the IRR and continued to serve until 1996, attending training, schools and drills with both of 78th Training Division and Newark District Recruiting Command for points.

They knew my background as I was required to have an annual physical, and no one seemed to have a problem with it. I received many letters of commondation for my work with USAR and Recruiting Command.

So, where there is a will, there is a way.

Again, Transgender troops are not conducive to military service, those that are in and doing their jobs, power to them. 250 is a drop in the bucket compared to approx 1.8 million troops across the board. I have served while don't ask don't tell was the big thing and before that and the Gay troops that I served with did their jobs didn't turn anything into a drama contest. If they did a combat deployment to Kore\a then they are very old. Combat deployments mean nothing when it comes to this condition. The main non monetary issue is readiness and cost of gender reassignments, medication and lost time. The biggest issue is the cost, with a shrinking budget we can't afford to spend more on making a minuscule percentage of questionable recruits that may not be deploy able let alone stay in soak up needed funds. Military service isn't for everyone and it shouldn't be.
