Interesting article SSG Diane R. - What a cost for our country though - Congress (all of Congress) is wasting time trying to combat against Trump and the result is - the American people aren't getting what they voted for out of Congress in my opinion. Millions of taxpayer dollars wasted in my opinion on crap, when they should be working to fix this country (all of them Republican, Democrat, Independent, and whatever we have there in Congress). Just wasted time and money - not getting things done! Disappointing in my opinion! That is my 2 cents for today!

I share your sentiments sir, I believe that Trump knew that was going to be an uphill battle, as he had to fight the GOP even harder than the DNC to gain his office.

It is still uncertain how all this will play out but the article has many links in bedded and all of them are a good read and present and alternative narrative as to what is really happening.

I try to keep an open mind with every new Administration and give them a little time to get grounded, and moving on the people's business. Lord knows I have issues with Trump, but he is our president and commander and chief.

A year from now things may be quite different then we could ever have expected, only time will tell.

Disappointing? When were you not disappointed in our government, Congress especially? Were you not disappointed when they implemented LBJs master plan to destroy the integrity of black families and buy their votes for the next 200 years? Were you disappointed when they reneged on our promises to South Vietnam, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory that we won? Were you not disappointed when they surrendered legislative power to the bureaucracy? Were you not disappointed with the legerdemain used to pass the ACA instead of following proper legislative processes? Were you not disappointed when they held multiple sham hearings to clear Hillary of wrong doing? Were you not disappointed when the GOP took over and broke their promise to rescind the ACA?

Trump is playing chess while his detractors are playing checkers. He is not the buffoon people would like to believe him to be. Nor is a vile creature as some on the website advocate. He is the master of misdirection and the MSM are playing into his hands.

LTC Orlando Illi - They say that had he just taken his father's money and invested it in the stock market......and done nothing else.......his wealth would be considerably more than what it is now. His business decisions haven't all been winners.....he just had enough money to ride out the bad ones.......and stiffed a lot of investors and contractors along the way. Doesn't take a genius to do that.....

I agree that Trump is far smarter than his opposition gives him credit for and this may be why they are, in fact, losing. We here on RP should know better than anyone else the dangers of underestimating or overestimating your opposition. Still, Trump is ignorant, very ignorant, of politics. He has much to learn before his Art of the Deal translates to log rolling (that's how deals are made in Washington). There is much more I could comment on here but I'm going to stop with "Draining the Swamp". I wish him well in that chore, but sincerely doubt that he will get far. That is a mighty large and deep swamp. Reagan attempted the same and got nowhere. And Trump will fail for the same reason: Congress has decayed amid the the swamp and is inseparable from it. Only We the People can drain that swamp and that will only begin when we replace its members en mass. And no, I don't mean as in how California replaced Barbara Boxer with Kamala Harris. We need to replace them with citizen legislators, people we have to drag kicking and screaming into their seats in the way we fill jury boxes.

That's a very good analysis Jack. The swamp has eaten more than one president alive.

I think most people that go to Washington D.C. go there with good intentions. But the culture, or swamp, eats them alive and they become that which they went there to change. Trump is not immune from this......in fact he is already showing signs of swamp immersion.

SSgt Gary Andrews - That is a fair observation. My professor of torts in law school rose rapidly in politics and came to an ill end despite being a fundamentally decent person. His name was Spiro Agnew.
