It will serve no purpose and cost millions! There will have to be new signage worldwide, there will have to be new letterhead, there will have to be computer changes, etc. I don't know why this "man" is posturing for a non-entity. The Marines will continue to be Marines, and the Navy will continue to be the Navy. This is a BS burger by a know-nothing amateur politician. It would seem that if the MC wanted to change the name of the Dept of the Navy to include them, they would be taking the steps right now using the formal military channels, not some back channel politician

Strikes me as, "It works fine so let's 'fix' it until it is broken." The cost-benefit ratio is infinite (anything divided by zero, the benefit).

This won't happen for fiscal reason alone. While I'd love the recognition (for the Corps) that comes with the department title change we don't need it. As a branch of service we are and should be confident in our place as America's finest fighting force.
