SSG Trust Palmer Gonna call BS or at least a lot of info isn't in the article. The commander can't do any NJP when the guy is going through a Courts Martial. I don't think the entire story is being told in that article.

Agree with you Sergeant Major. I read in another account that he wrote MFRs on every thing he thought was wrong. Every little thing. He alleges he was demoted and doesn't know why. I suspect he was administratively reduced and RCPed. prolific writing whilst in left field could be a combination that could get one administratively reduced. Laying your misguided opinions and malcontent bare for all to see, in writing. Possibility your inability to handle your duties in that grade.

At any rate, there is way more to this. It is likely all administrative, because the services only comment on punitive outcomes.

"Cody acknowledged that his client had been written up by his superiors before..."
I had a sailor that went to Captain's Mast for being 5 minutes late...but that was after being over an hour late for morning muster (rec'd counseling), than 1/2 hour late for watch (counseling, extra duty), and another 1 - 2 times of being 5-15 minutes late (XOI). The "final" 5 minutes late was the "final straw" and he went to Captain's Mast. Technically, he can say he was sent to mast for being 5 minutes late...but that's not the whole story.

There has to be more to the story than is being told. No one is going to get jammed up this hard for being late to a meeting unless the SM has been a total shit bird. Read "every time I complained about something, I got written up for something else"....My opinion, you were a Blue Falcon that got flanked and dealt with. Just my opinion based on the information available.
