I wish I was told this or taught this when i left the military. It wad slot easier to say yes ma'am or no sir than using a name was always taught a name was to impersonal. Thank you for classifying that for me. Was a good read.

Probably the best way to translate military experience is to tell the story in a civilian-friendly way. "My squadron sent out 3 detachments and maintained 100% MC status for RIMPAC-94" becomes "by supporting three remote teams of 8-10 personnel our organization was able to fully complete daily flight operations in the training exercises. Coordinating travel and arranging for shipment of equipment and parts made it possible for the men and women to focus on their individual roles."
