SFC (Join to see) As a retired teacher I ache from the changes in the curriculum that is forced down our children's throats. Complaints from religions have stopped the classroom teacher from teaching directly to the subject of patriotism, and talking about what Memorial Day really means. I snuck it in from time to time. It is time to get back to basics, so our future children can really understand why they have freedom.

The public school systems tend to indoctrinate, rather than teach, at least for the last generation or two. We were taught about patriotism, civics, and things like Memorial Day when I was in school; then again, I went to school on military bases, and then in small-town Texas, and graduated high school in 1970. Everything is different now.
