1LT Sandy Annala Right again Sandy! Properly armed pilots would have suppressive rounds that would not penetrate the fuselage. Or Dart Guns?

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - No problem - our Air Marshals carry 357 Magnum 158 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point - train to double tap center of mass - but a few strays in skin of the aircraft are not going to cause any difficulty. The interior / exterior pressure delta for most civilian aircraft is about 8 PSI at maximum altitude. Not even punching a hole in the window is going to make a significant difference. There is small risk of hitting a control system relay - but these are triple redundant - so again not a significant problem. No one is getting into a firefight with automatic weapons at altitude - this might be a problem - but in terms of a flight crew member with some reasonable required training - no issues. All that said, you may want to avoid shooting into the deck in the neighborhood of the wings - where most civilian aircraft carry a centerline fuel tank about where the wings attach to the fuselage. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

An opportunity to respond with an intelligent response conditioned by training, knowledge, assets and experience is all that Sandy needs! PO1 William "Chip" Nagel

CSM Charles Hayden - No problem. This isn't my area of expertise. But, I have just hung around a few bars with the wrong kind of people long enough to know our options for what to do if someone is stupid enough to try to take over one of our civilian transport aircraft. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)
