Gettysburg (1993) 20th Maine bayonet charge at Little Round Top
The scene has been cut out for educational purposes.
When valor was a common virtue. The 20th Maine monument as well as Lee's statue and the High Water Mark of the Confederacy are sacred ground. I am always affected when I visit them (Gettysburg is only @ 35 miles from Hagerstown, MD - so I go there a great deal).

Thanks for sharing LTC Orlando Illi. I have visited Antietam National Battlefield several times. Coincidentally, yesterday afternoon after we left Walter Reed National Medical Center, I took my wife to the overlook on I-270 which is above the Monocacy River National Battlefield. That battle as fought in 1864 as Jubal early was trying to threaten Washington, DC.

The Irish Brigade's attack at the sunken road in the Antietam at the cost of 60% casualties is one of the most valorous moments of the civil war

LTC Orlando Illi - Great charge. That had to be one helluva a war Colonel but in the end, one is just as bad as the other! I saw Joshua Chamberlain's Medal of Honor and the gold bracelet he had made for his wife on display up at Bowdoin College in Maine. I'm a MH buff but I have to say, that bracelet was stunning with all the battles he participate in engraved around it.

SFC William Farrell - I concur that the valor of the 20th Maine was impressive. But so was the 15th Alabama 4th and 47th Alabama Infantry whom he opposed and who charged up Little Round Top. All four units deserve recognition for their valor in the face of insurmountable odds
