Why should I retreat from an area (MY OWN HOUSE) where I have a legal right to be? The suspect(s) have no legal right to be there if they broke into the residence. Part of the problem is that the liberal way of thinking is that the bad people should have their way and that they will leave the law abiding people alone. If you believe that then "Welcome to Alice in Wonderland " .

Well, although thats the flavor of the month, lets not blame it on the liberals. Plenty of republicans have been in office long enough *AND HAVE CHOSEN* not to repeal these laws that have - quite honestly - been on the books for some time. These laws date back to the 70's. Yet, none of the reps in office have changed them.

PO3 Donald Murphy Thank you! I’m a “liberal” and I happen to own a gun and everyone in my household knows how to use it/them. I believe in the right to protect your family and home. I also believe in the 2nd amendment as all of the other liberals I know. In fact all of the liberals I know are also gun owners. The issue is not to take anyone’s guns away, the issue is to put universal laws, checks and balances in place to keep everyone safe.

Once someone enters you home with intent to harm you (Knives, Brass knuckles) your family then they are legitimate targets. For what was written and reported the young man did well, three entered three are dead. Those that would just roll over and become victims enable this behavior with the exception of those that are prevented from defending themselves, their families and property by laws that are unconstitutional.

Here in Michigan, once someone enters your home with you in it, it doesn't matter their intent. They are considered an armed intruder if they enter an occupied residence. It takes out some of that legal ambiguity.

I had a long talk with the wife and boys, as long as they are on the linoleum and not standing in front of the flat screen then have at it. Hit what you aim at an no executions, let them bleed out while you are on the phone with the police and no matter how many times they cry for mommy stay where you are until the police roll up, then its weapons down empty hands in plain sight. Considering where I live, my neighbors and the general attitude towards home invaders there will be no trials.

Only delusional intellect challenged Liberals believe that you should not protect yourself. These three miscreants came into the house with INTENT to rob and do bodily harm. Karma SUCKS. Sorry for their luck (not really - they threw the dice and crapped out). The kid should be given a medal. By the way I keep a LOADED 9MM Carbine in my house. Nothing personal - just business.
