The RAF's 22,000lb bomb is 25 feet long and perfectly stream-lined to give it maximum penetration power. The first time the ten tonners were used was on 14th...
SFC William Farrell - I am not clear on the concept. Why all the uproar? We built some 15 GBU-43 (MOAB) devices - and delivered one. The Brits circa 1943 built - and delivered - some 42 "Grand Slam" 22,000 pound bombs - slung outside the airframe of their Lancaster bombers - penetrating structures covered in up to 14.5 feet of reinforced concrete. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

1LT Sandy Annala I'm not sure either Sandy. I just saw it making the news today and reported what I read. If i have heard about these bombs before, I certainly forgot about them. Its an age thing! :-) I just found it interesting that they used it against an underground bunker complex, something I guess it was designed for. As for Afghanistan, we should get the hell out of there. The Afghan president is even chastising us for using it. Maybe he should deal with his own problems now.

Is this mother of all bombs designed it to be launched from a from a C-130 a B-1 bomber or a B-52? Or is it designed to be dropped by all three? I was discussing with a retired Colonel friend friend last night who was saying if it's only launched from a C-130 then the Taliban would know it's coming or can it be launched from all three platforms?

LTC (Join to see) - MOAB/GBU-43 => C130M. GBU-57 => B52 / B2. Sandy :)
Didn't a Japanese Admiral say "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." Well after 8 years of Obama induced haze we are ready to send some assholes back to the Stone Age..

We finally have a president that has a set of balls and is willing to give support to his military personnel.

The displacement is downward and opens the ground like pores of the skin. The chemicals that seep in cause fire.
I love the smell of MOABs in the morning. It smells like, it smells like...Victory!
It must have been the will of Su'en. Su'en be praised! Allllllllllllllll!
