Don't have a tattoo. But, long ago I realized that if I stopped eating things that will kill me, drinking things that will kill me, and doing things that will kill me, I will die within 30 days from either starvation, thirst, or boredom.

An interesting read Maj Marty Hogan thanks for sharing it. I do not have any tattoos; just never felt the need to get one and at my age, I probably never will. I dont mind one small tattoo but I do find them distracting as in the lady on the picture that was posted with the article. You take someone who is beautiful as they are, male or female and then cover them up with "body art" is just too much for me.

My upper back was rather heavily scarred by acne when I was in junior high and high school. I was always self-conscious of it until I had my back tattooed. After the tattoo was done, one morning I looked in the mirror and the first thing I saw wasn't the acne scars. I was shocked when I realized it. It was an epiphanal moment for me.

So I'll disagree with you on two points. The art can be great if it's tastefully done, even if it covers a large area. And people aren't necessarily going to be as generous in their own assessment of their beauty as you are.

Tats are fine, but not for me. Many are tastefully done. My daughter is an artist and regularly watched the TV series on tattooing because it is an art form. But, like me was not interested getting herself a tattoo. to each his/her own.

Personally, with all the other things that I've been exposed to (especially in the Army), tattoos are the least of my concerns of things bad for me.
