So according to the Morons in the NYS Regents if a person can't pass a literacy test they should not be denied a teaching certificate? Uh huh. So the next question is how does ANYONE get a 4 year degree and fail to pass a literacy test? This post is another in my Top 5 imbecilic things that I have read.

I am constantly amazed at the inability of Liberals to engage in rational thought. This latest example of logic predicated upon an assumption that an individual with a 4 year degree cannot pass a simple literacy exam because of their race is ludicrous on its face. It is beyond belief that a State Board of Regents would even give credence to this imbecility

This insults every single person of color with a degree. Disgusting.

Yes, this is the soft bigotry of low expectations. There is no reason anyone, minority or not should finish 12 years of school or 12 years plus college and be illiterate. To try to hide behind a bad test is insulting to all who pass it easily and making excuses for those that cannot.

We continue to talk about the school system failing students and the U.S. sliding further down the scale in global scores in STEM. When you have teachers that have college degrees and are illiterate what hope to the kids learning from them have? Not much.

We should be raising the standards for teachers not doing away with them. English is English, math is math, science is science etc. The test are not discriminatory those taking it are undereducated.

Since an overwhelming amount of minority teachers can't pass the test, scraping the exam will really help the students. Right?
Sarc off.
