Never give up SSG (Join to see) ! Well done, my brother. When I lost my identity as SFC Merino I felt that all that was left was Mark Merino, and I didn't even know who that guy was. Marriage was in the toilet, I was racked with pain, and a startle response that had me coiled up like a spring 24/7. I felt like Mark died in Iraq, all that was left was the shell of the man that I once was. There was no end in sight and I felt hopeless, useless, and forgotten. Alcohol was NOT my friend. Deep down, SFC Merino was still in there somewhere and he wouldn't let me give up. Things will only stay the same or worsen when we give up and quit trying to move forward. Keep looking towards the future and I send you my prayers from AZ. We are never alone, because we are bonded for life because of our service to the defense of this great nation.
