I still find it amazing that most Americans are unaware that Syria is and has been a (then) Soviet now Russian client state. Americans seem to be surprised that Russia would defend Syria. Some simple historical research would do the Gen Y crowd some good.

Most Americans don't take the trouble to inform themselves on any issue. Heck, a fair portion of America can't tell you who fought in the American Revolution.

Lots of weapons are available to us also, if we don't concern ourselves with collateral damage. I'm still flabbergasted at the lengths we, and others, have to go to in order to defeat what has been reported as 35,000 combatants that we also have reports of thousands killed.
