7 Types Of NCOs You Deal With In The Military

I think there is a #8. My favorite 1SG was this one. A leaders NCO. He was always teaching and leading by example. You worked hard for this guy because you did not want to disappoint. He was not your friend, but he was who you went to when you needed advice. He was the guy that made sure you were ready for whatever school you were attending. He would walk up during your convoy brief and tell you that he was going out and give one of your people the day off, then he would either drive or gun. Those kind of guys are out there.

It has always been my belief that the COC is like a family so to speak, and here is why;
Non- NCOS siblings, hang out together, get in trouble together stick together
NCOS- older siblings, provide advice, go-between for siblings and parents- kind of lessen the blow so to speak
SNCOS-parents, provide the guidance, discipline, direction of the immediate family
COs,CGs,-grandparents, final word on direction of the family unit.

No disrespect to you and most high-ranking ncos you forgot one type of senior NCO that at a school house for ncos and for field grade officers prohibits you from bringing backpacks into the Dining Facility(DFAC) because he's still traumatized LOL thinking this is mosul Iraq in 12/2005. He claims it's for safety but I think it's just he doesn't want ncos and officers to take extra food. (we still have cargo pockets if we want an apple or a granola bar)

It is really inconvenience to students because they have to leave their backpack in their car go eat and instead of walking up stairs to their classroom they have to go right back to their car which is 150 meter walk and then walk there classroom.

This is at Fort Dix New Jersey CGSOC and I believe it is also an Advanced NCO course. Very similar to a Sergeant Major being a grass guard or making you put safety strap on a top- heavy LMTV truck. The 'no backpack in the dining facility rule is' an actual rule at Fort Dix since I was there for two weeks for the last two summers starting and ending ILE Phase I and III. This is idiocy is not just affecting just the US Army but this silliness is also Air Force at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana.

I am sure it's an NCO who had made the rule that you have to put these water-filled barriers taking up the first 12 parking spots at the Malmstrom Hotel thinking it's going to prevent car bombs. iI

If you know anything about explosives, that car bomb could be parked a hundred metres away and 50 pounds of explosives could still do the same damage LOL.
