the only way or reason calls were made in My day... was as friendly calls to check on health and welfare of sick and Injured Family members or for Emergency Call-out Notifications... ot Alert Notifications Call roster check out...

Sorry Sir/1SG/Sergeant....i did not hear the call..My phone was dead....I left it in the car....
i.e. leave me the hell alone. I'm off duty with my family.
While in korea was the worst.....there is one ring tone that to this day sends my wife into an anxiety attack if she hears it
Its also why once I could afford to buy a house I moved off post so I was harder to get a hold off for the stupid hey you shit...and mismanagement of personnel

What we are talking about isn't about phones. It is about trust. I trusted people to handle stuff. I worked to build trust with my leaders up and down. Trust that if I call, I either need your help, or you need mine. Trust that it is truly important. Trust that I hold stuff until Monday. Trust that if I called, it is because I needed to talk to you, back and forth. Trust that if I sent a Saturday email, it waits until Monday, because if it were critical, I would have called. Trust that I am not calling about random crap that can wait.
