19-year-old Marine killed in training exercise

There have been a number of deaths in training exercises.... Train as we play!

After my time in Vietnam I was in Okinawa when News came down the wire that at least six Marines wounded, three killed and they needed blood, I stood in line 45 minutes to be turned away because the malaria pill I had to take to go "in country". Found out they were clearing a mortar range and the butter bars (no offense to any officer) had them throwing the "duds" into a pile. If he knew that mortars go off by number of rotations I'm sure he wouldn't have had them doing it that way.
