Actually, you must have forgotten that the republicans held a special meeting in Jan 2008 to make up their plan to obstruct Obama on everything he wanted to do . It didn't matter whether they actually agreed with it or not. They committed to obstruct everything, and as a result the country got deadlock for years. Remember the Obamacare mandate for everyone to buy insurance? That came from a republican plan put out by the conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation. When the republicans wanted to do it, it was billed as not letting freeloaders get medical care in emergency rooms while the hard working Americans paid for it through higher premiums and healthcare costs. But when Obama added it, it suddenly became an infringement of individual freedom.
So you don't have to imagine what it would have been like if the right had sought to obstruct a new president, you have a ready example. And they were obstructing a president that actually not just won the popular vote, but got a majority of the votes.
If you really want to imagine something, imagine how the right and Trump would have responded if Trump got 3 million more votes than Hillary, and the intel community said that a foreign government had hacked the RNC emails to influence the election against Trump. Considering Trump was claiming the election was rigged before it even happened, how do you think he would have responded? With a gracious concession speech. Yeah, me neither.
It's pretty funny that the right is so upset that the left isn't rolling over to worship the new president given their 8 year campaign to obstruct and delegitimize the last one.

Capt Jeff S. - I wasn't suggesting the world police us. I was suggesting that ***WE*** hire someone impartial to do the investigation. If a story breaks and we the people feel that it is something worth investigating, it's pretty standard what is going to be found. Asking the dems to investigate the dems is (a) not gonna work and (b) not going to get a fair/impartial result. Same with the reps. I was not suggesting/hinting/alluding that the world willy-nilly up and decide to investigate us.

Sheriff Arpaio did an impartial investigation into Obama's eligibility when the people of Surprise Arizona came to him complaining that they felt their voting rights were violated. They had reason to suspect that Obama was not eligible to be in the race for President. Arpaio's team of experts investigated - at no cost to taxpayers! - and drew sound, logical, irrefutable conclusions. Their findings were presented to Congress and nothing ever came of it.
We will never see a good fix for these scandals with the current crop of corruptocrats in Washington, DC. It's up to We The People to vote them out and bring in people from the outside (people like Trump, Ben Carson, etc.) to shake things up and restore a sense of sanity to the operations of our government.

PO3 Donald Murphy - I'll do you one better, brother: too bad a guy with no real experience of any kind other than a short run in the Senate, a short run in the state house and as a community organizer, whatever the hell that even is, got elected to the most important job in the world....and failed. Neither Obama nor Clinton were good presidents, an understatement to say the least. At least Slick Willy, self-serving though it was, managed to do something in the way of compromising, an art long-dormant in the Beltway. If after "getting his dick stepped on" Obama didn't change his approach or employ a different methodology, what does that say about him? Like Bill Clinton, I fear the electorate is enamored with young, liberal politicians who wish they were channelling Jack Kennedy, and it never works out for them.

That was humorous. It seems the article complained about Democrats incorrectly stereotyping Republicans for the next year and tried to make its case by incorrectly stereotyping Democrats.
