WE need to push this type experiences sooner! We need the next generation of skill workers now!

Except the girl in the picture is a safety NO-GO. Thou shalt not wear scarves or other dangling objects that could result in your getting sucked into the drill press, milling machine, grinder or lathe and having your face non surgically removed.

SGT (Join to see) - I couldn't resist the safety comment. We had an excellent industrial arts program in our high school, great training on drafting, machining and welding. There was also a vocational agriculture program for students interested in forestry, farming and animal husbandry.

I don't know when it became degrading to work with your hands. Not everyone is happy in college or is interested in a field requiring a degree. There is no shame in skilled labor. Hell, if it pays the bills, feeds your family, and makes you happy then you are set. No shame in that.
