RP Members and Connections I've got the great honor and privledge of serving on the Board of Directors for a great organization The National Veterans Transition Services, Inc. (NVTSI), a 501(c)(3) veterans service organization headquartered in San Diego, California, that specializes in military to civilian reintegration through our signature program: REBOOT Workshop(TM) aka REBOOT.

As you know, over 80% of our transitioning service members have a tough time building a new career. Unfortunatly, many get trapped in unemployment cycles and never recover.  Their stories are heartbreaking. And they are beyond one-on-case management and need a complete career makeover, otherwise they will be stuck in a life of underemployment, low self esteem and dignity.

With the recent approval of training funds from the state Employment Training Panel (ETP), NVTSI has launched OPERATION REBOOT, where we provide job skills training and placement to unemployed veterans with barriers to employment.

OPERATION REBOOT -- Is an employer-driven initiative to Reboot the Lives & Careers of Local Transitioning Service Members and Veterans and Promote Employment in San Diego’s Priority Sectors – like Project Management Professional, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, etc.

That is why we have combined the REBOOT Workshop with Job Skills training (two key pillars of success) to support priority industries (such as Cyber Security). These are real jobs that pay a livable wage and employers are struggling to fill positions.

With partial training dollars from ETP, and support from employers, we can begin to solve this very big challenge and put our heroes back to work with dignity.

OPERATION REBOOT is a membership based initiative that leverages funds to train and place veterans in key priority industries.

By focusing on and resolving the key reintegration issues of veterans and the challenges employers face trying to hire them, OPERATION REBOOT helps orchestrate a predictable talent pipeline from military service to employment in priority sectors through a coordinated training effort with other agencies.

Membership in OPERATION REBOOT begins at $2500 annually which goes towards the retraining and placement of unemployed veterans with barriers to employment. But it also provides many benefits to employers as well. Here is a link to our membership brochure that explains member benefits.

Our Mission is to Help Veterans Successfully Transition From The Battlefront to the Homefront.

Our vision is to see all veterans make a successful transition from military service to civilian life, with all veterans achieving, within their potential, their goals in the transition domains of employment and career, education, living situation, personal effectiveness/wellbeing, and community-life functioning.

Since our inception in 2010 we have conducted 85 REBOOT Workshops, graduated over 1500 military/veterans, and maintained a 98% success rate with retention at 93%.
