I was actually raised as a Buddhist, was always taught that if I wasn't good, I would be reincarnated as a cockroach. I am not Buddhist anymore, however I am not completed objected to that idea as it makes some sense. Maybe not so much as a cockroach, but....

From my past readings, the only benefit to being a cockroach is being able to survive a world disaster. On the other hand, in some countries, cockroaches are a delicacy.

I too believe that the idea originates from karma, which I believe to be a real thing.

I don't find it Contradictory to my Catholic Upbringing, Whether you have a "New Life" in this world or another? I am not God. Early in my Career was spent with around some Buddhist Culture folks and I don't see much difference between Hell and being Reborn as a Lower Life Form. I do believe in Paying You Dues whether in this Life of the Next.

Makes a lot more sense than most alternatives. I do believe that we experience some degree of heaven or hell to reset the balance, however after that we are reborn.
