I have grown so very tired of the automatic apology people have when they even THINK they might have offended someone.... "OMG, what DID I SAY..????"
Where did all of this BS come from and how long are we as Americans going to tolerate this penny ante, mindless, apologetic behavior?
I have never looked at anyone and preemptively apologized "just in case" I offended someone.
I own my own behavior and if I ever have (or will in the future) offend someone they are welcome to come up to me and say so, but they should be prepared for me to also call BS on their complaint if it truly is inconsequential.
We need to stop being so "Politically Correct" (which is an acronym for "too weak-willed to think for themselves" as well as "Too stupid to have a leadership role in society")...
I personally like Hillary Duff's outfit and for the people who dress up for Halloween, I have no issue with ANYTHING they are wearing, especially if it shows some skill in doing so. I have had men come to my house dressed as Conan (with only a leather loin cloth and a battleaxe) as well as a women showing up as either Sexy Nurses or Vampires ....
It is supposed to be a night of fun, so go out and have some FUN for once and stop thinking of how much it might offend someone who probably doesn't care to begin with.

How will future historians describe "political correctness"? The Age of Mass Hysteria?

Future Historians will either be more of the Politically Correct mindless morons and will of course describe the rest of us as 'savages'....or perhaps we will get lucky and a straight shooter unconcerned with a label of "politically incorrect" will finally shut down the nonsense we have to deal with...
Personally, if a few words hurt you ...go to your safe place...shit the heck up ... and let the rest of us solve your stupid dilemma once and for all... and for all I am concerned, you can stay in that safe place for the rest of your life

CPT Jack Durish - Nope not "you're trying to spin my words by reinterpreting them" I am just saying that what "an attempt to infringe on free speech." is what my mother taught me to keep my words to my self and be polite. So use your free speech right, and I will practice what my Mother taught me. But I will engage in dialogue or discourse when you or any one post a thread; facing facts if you post something here on RP it is for discussing?

PO1 John Crafton - Hillary Duff has the same rights as you and others point out about Free Speech, funny but looks like you and the rest criticize and judge her for doing what you guys claim to do. Looks more like you and the rest our doing the Political Correction by criticizing Hillary Duff.

PO1 John Crafton - Your words "I'm dismayed that she feels like she has to. I'm criticizing those that would put her in that position, I'm criticizing those that would put her in that position." You assume that those that would put her in that position exists. Hillary Duff simply apologize for what she did. There is nothing for any one to judge her for that. She judge her self and you judge her too.
