Reading through this article I am not sure if this a boy who wants to become a girl, a girl who wants to be a boy at age 11 or less likely this is a child who had gone through gender reassignment surgery by age 11 SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
It seems that this child is a male with male genitals who wants to become a girl. I can see why 11 year old girls might be concerned and especially their parents would be concerned about the situation.
From a psychological perspective it is interesting that "The 11-year-old’s mother told NBC that her child is “terrified” of using the boys’ restroom and would have to go down three floors, leave the building and cross the courtyard to another building to use a gender-neutral restroom."

I'm glad she can use the girls restroom, however I can't help but wonder why a middle school girl be that terrified of the boys rest room? Don't they have stalls she could have used?

SSG (Join to see) - Why add to any bullying she may already get by forcing her to be the only girl required to use the boy's bathroom?

LTJG (Join to see) - I never suggested the girl should be forced to use the boys bathroom. I am saying that the girl should feel safe in school... even if she is in the boys bathroom.

SSG (Join to see) - I apologize for reading your comment wrong and taking up the defense. I agree that nobody child should be afraid in any part of their school. I also believe that transgender students should be able to use the bathroom that corresponds with their correct gender, even if they aren't afraid of going into the other bathroom.
